My local machine monitors are set to 3840x2160 resolution with 150% scaling. When I connect to my company's servers via RDP, they show up with 100% scaling, so the text is really tiny.
Is it possible to set the resolution on the RDP window to 1920x1080 and expand the window full-screen, which would effectively scale-up the window 200%? I seem to remember being able to do this, or maybe it was in the Windows RDP client. Whatever the case, I'd really like to be able to view the remote windows at lower resolution, but still expand them.
I've tried searching for an answer to this, and tried different display settings, but can't seem to get the behavior I'm looking for.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting the Devolutions Support Desk !
Have you tried this option Under File > Options > Types > Remote Desktop ?
Best Regards,
In searching for an answer previously, I came across that setting. It was not checked, so I did check it. It made no difference.
Hello,
Understood, could you tell me what options you did try ?
From what I understand, you tried the display options in the entry, but I'd like to know if you tried other options so that I don't end up recommending things you already did
Best Regards,
When editing the saved connection, on the display tab there are two combo boxes, one for screen sizing mode, the other for remote desktop size. For each of the screen sizing modes, I've tried default, full-screen, 1920x1080, and 1440x900. I've then started the connection and tried to click and drag to change the screen size (in the case of full-screens I've taken them off of full-screen first). With some of them, I can shrink the screen, but none of them allow me to enlarge. I've tried these with and without the "Disable RDP Scale Factor (HDPI)" setting under options > types. Remote Desktop checked.
It's possible I missed a combination of settings along the line, but I'm nearly certain I've tried each one.
Hello,
Have you tried this option as well ?
Best Regards,
I set that option then tried again. No good. Tried several other combinations with that selected, still no good.
I really don't have the time to spend trying every permutation, so I guess I'll just have to live with it or find another product.
Hello,
Would it be okay with you if I opened a case so that we can then have a remote session ?
This would allow me to have a closer look at your issue, and perhaps even expedite a solution.
Best Regards,
Yes, you may. I am most available for a remote session in the late afternoon/evening Eastern Standard time (say between 4 pm and 8 pm EST).
Hello,
This is just to let you know I've sent you an email with a link to schedule a remote session with me.
Best Regards,
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to schedule a session, I'm glad that the undocked mode found in the display settings suited your needs
