Latest Update Lost Most of my Server Entries

avatar

I just finished updating to the latest version of Remote Desktop Manager (free version) and when the application came back, I only had the first few servers that I entered years ago, the rest have vanished! Is there a way to recover the rest?

Thanks, in advance, for any help that you can give.

Hello,

In the latest version of RDM, the Free and Team Edition now use the same installer. If you go into %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManagerFree you should be able to find your old database file which by default is named Connections.db . If you point your current installation to this file you should have access to your entries.

In order to point it to that file, you'll need to go under "File" -> "Data Sources" then press the "Edit" (Pencil) icon to change the "Database" field of your current data source or create a new one by pressing the "+".

Best Regards,

I contacted Devolutions support and they were quick to help me resolve my issue. I was told that the free and normal versions of Remote Desktop Manager were combined. That seemed to cause the program to attach to the .db that I created back in 2018 and contained just 44 servers. The support person told me how to repoint the program to the current connections.db file located in the RemoteDesktopManagerFree folder. I am SO relieved that I was able to get help with this so quickly.
