PasswordState extra properties

Hi All,

We're using an on-site MS SQL 2019 Data source in RDM v2022.3.31.0 64-bit, and on-site PasswordState server as well.

I found this thread https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/34711/passwordstate-integration-question and have confirmed the PasswordState API does retrieve all the properties for an entry. I have also seen in RDM for the Password State connection under Common -> General -> Advanced Tab, that you can select 'Get domain from generic fields' checkbox to map the GenericField1 property to the $DOMAIN$ variable instead of the Domain property.

Is it possible to map other properties to other variables in RDM?
E.g. $CUSTOM_FIELD1$ = PasswordState entry's 'URL' Property
$CUSTOM_FIELD2$ = PasswordState entry's 'Notes' Property
or even $DESCRIPTION$ = PasswordState entry's 'Description' Property

I would very much like to avoid double data entry as we already have the URL entered in PasswordState. I have tested using the GenericField1 and $DOMAIN$ in the Website Session i.e. https://$DOMAIN$/login and that works correctly, but want to avoid having to copy the URLs in all entries.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,

I see, from my understanding, this would not be possible, I will however confirm with our engineering department and keep you updated with any news I receive.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for your patience,

We're wondering if you could provide us with some additional details on what you're trying to achieve in this case?

You would like to use the information retrieved from Password State for your connections? Or perhaps you're simply looking to have this information in your PasswordState entry?

Let us know,

Best regards,

Thanks Samuel for getting back to me.

I'd like to be able to use the Information from the PasswordState entry in the connection itself.

Most specifically the URL property which is a standard field in PasswordState to be used as the address in Website Sessions as we already have all of the URL properties filled out with the vast majority of our PasswordState entries.

If the URL property from PasswordState could be used it would make life much easier. Whether it was mapped to an existing Variable in RDM similar to the $DOMAIN$ or something else so you could enter the address as https://$URL$/login.

As per the Screenshot below, For a couple of Website Sessions I've copied/entered the host-name in GenericField1 in the PasswordState entry and in RDM PasswordState entry have selected 'Get domain from generic fields' and using the $DOMAIN$ variable for the address.

Some of the other Standard Properties could be helpful too. E.g. Description, Notes, from PasswordState.

Also the custom GenericFields1-10 could be mapped to the entry $CUSTOM_FIELD1$ - $CUSTOM_FIELD10$.

I wanted to inform you that after discussing this with our engineering department I've created a feature request for you regarding this,

I should let you know that they mentioned something like this would not be simple to implement, I've linked the feature request to this topic and we will keep you updated with any news I receive.
