One issue I've been having for a long time is RDPing to servers that have Cisco Duo MFA at the login screen. I haven't been able to recreate this using any other RDP apps, only RDM.
If you have an existing session, and it's resized for any reason (for me typically this happens when my main monitor changes to another source, which causes my macos windows to jump over to my integrated macbook pro display) then whenever you see that Duo prompt again, it will be frozen and the only way to resolve is either login as another user and kill the session, or reboot the host.
Steps to reproduce
1) RDP to a VM with Cisco Duo at the login prompt
2) Authenticate, login
3) Resize the RDM window
4) Let the session timeout
5) Attempt to reconnect, you can auth, but the following MFA via Duo will often be frozen resulting in a hung session. Can't click buttons on the Duo screen or anything, it's completely frozen.
Like I said, using Jump Desktop or MS RDP, I never have this issue. I'm also the only one using RDM, and no one else has the issue. I've updated Duo, but it hasn't helped.
Hello
Can I ask what you have configured on the RDP connection for "Display > Screen Sizing Mode"? If it's set to "Dynamic Resolution", do you still have the issue with other options (for example "Smart reconnect" or "Scrollbars")?
The equivalent option in MS RDP for macOS is under the "Display" tab - "Update the session resolution on resize". Are you using that option?
Thanks and kind regards,
