favicons for folders

I really like the ability to fetch the favicon for http sessions (IMO you could fetch them by default, btw). I have folders for my client's sessions and they look like this:

I really would like to have them like this and as almost all clients have websites, an option to fetch a favicon for a folder would be most welcome...

Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion. We're actually making changes to the way custom images are managed for 2023.1, which will pave the way for making other interesting improvements, including with the favicons. What you're mentioning is actually an idea we had as well, since a lot of our users do use the favicon feature.

As for using favicons for the custom images of folders, that's an interesting idea, we will have to see how to best implement this. Right now, do your folders have a value in the "host" field equal to the website you'd like to use the favicon of?

thanks, looking forward.

re your question: folders have a HOST field?

It depends on the folder's type. It's available for Device, Printer, Server and Workstation types, it looks like this:

You can then refer to this host through the "inherited host" feature, or with variables like $COMPUTER_HOST$ (the COMPUTER prefix is for those types of folders).

If this isn't something you're using then I don't think it's an appropriate solution. We'll think about it on our end and see what we can come up with.

ok, I understand. No, these are simple folders that hold everything the client has, websites, servers, credentials etc.

Thanks for the clarification! We'll get back to you in this thread once we have an update on this.
