Hi I'm running a RDP session on an Android tablet and I'd like to run it at my tablet's native resolution in full screen mode. How do I do this? The app rejects it if I try to set it manually (2560H X 1800W).
The official MS app runs at native. But I wasn't able to hide the menu bar, so I was hoping this software could work instead.
EDIT:
The problem appears to be how I'm trying to run it in portrait mode. Full screen native seems to work in landscape. So how do I get portrait mode working?
Also is there a way to enable Windows display scaling?
Hi,
Can you try to set the remote desktop size to: 'Current screen size' or 'Current work area size' in the display section of your RDP entry?

Those options work fine if I'm not using full screen. The vertical resolution stays the same when entering full screen. Select "dynamic resolution" doesn't affect anything.
Hi,
Can you set the value to 'Current screen size' and try to open the session when your device is in landscape mode.
This should work. However, Dynamic resolution is not yet implemented on RDM Android so switching the device's orientation once the open session command is executed
will not change the resolution.
Please confirm that the 'Current screen size' works as expected in landscape mode. If if does work, the problem is probably related to the Dynamic resolution and we will add it to our todo list.

Setting it to 'current screen size' yields the same behavior in landscape and portrait. Manually setting the resolution while in landscape is the only way to for me to get full-screen at native resolution. If the app didn't have hardcoded resolution limits, I image I could also manually set size to get portrait mode full-screen working too.
Thank you,
We will investigate.

Hi,
In our tests, the same behavior was found in landscape and in portrait mode.
To achieve the same result with RDM:
1- Edit your RDP Session, select the 'Display' section and set Remote desktop size to 'default'
2- Save your session.
3- Go in the application setting, select 'RDP Settings' and change the scale factor value.
The default is 100%. If you set it between 150% and 200% you should get similar results.
MS RDP seems to scale automatically depending on your screen resolution. We will add the auto scale feature to our backlog.

I didn't know windows display scaling was located under the main settings menu. So that solves one of my problems. It would be nice if that setting was also available in the display section when editing the RDP config.
But just in case there's been a misunderstanding of my main complaint: Portrait mode is only a problem when trying to have the Windows session display at the full resolution of 1800W X 2560H. Leaving the resolution at default results in the vertical resolution being reduced so that menu bar fits on screen (for both portrait and landscape). I could work around this if I could manually set the height to 2560. However the app limits me to max height of 2048 for some reason.
Thanks for the additional information, we will investigate.

We have found the issue, the fix should be in the next release (version 2022.3.5 or version 2023.1).
