Good morning all.
I have approx. 1650 entries in RDM. Each month or two, I am looking to pull an RVTools report and do a mass import to capture new VM's that have been stood up.
I noticed the other day when I was messing around with testing imports, it created duplicate entries.
Is there a flag I am missing / don't have set in order to avoid an entry that it already finds in my Local Data Source?
Thank you!

Hello Chuck,
If it is possible to do an export as a CSV, you could then use the CSV importer to import the entries in RDM. This way, it would detect the duplicates and they would not be imported again.
It can also detect an entry mismatch (deleted entries) and either delete, move them, or make them expired.

I will give that one a shot, sir.
The Template and Dest Folders are all different.
I currently have 13 folders under the root, some 2 or 3 subs deep. And 11 different Templates.
Will the CSV importer catch all that and?
I currently import using headers and custom fields which works perfect!
Thank you!

Hello Chuck,
You would need to have a synchronizer per template, at a minimum.
For the destination folder, as long as the group is set in the CSV, it can import into the correct one after.

Thank you, Richard.
Yes, I always make sure to put the "Group" in the csv I import, so it goes to the correct folder under root of the LDS.
Would you mind pointing me to a page where I can understand what you mean by the synchronizing part?
Thanks you!

Hello Chuck,
We name that type of entry synchronizer; we have several types available. They are used in import a large number of entries instead of having to creating them manually, and to maintain that list up to date afterward. For example, the AD once can be pointed to a specific OU, and only import server machines.
There is no specific help topic for the CSV Synchronizer, unfortunately.
