RDM web extension causing pop-up messages on RDM asking for an OTP account
Hi,
I have upgrade my RDM from version 2020.3.29 a few weeks ago, and since then I'm facing a very annoying problem.
I use the RDM extension for firefox, is so much easier to work with web apps than copy and pasting all the password every singles time, but since I moved to RDM 2022.3.23 I get this popup message asking me to provide an account to some OTP and I don't have
Looking at the vault were his happens I don't see nothing wrong with the entry where that user was being asked.
I believe this happens because the entry is a "website" and the extension is looking for all the website, but shouldn't be possible to ignore if a user doesn't exist?
Just for you to have the full picture you have below the entry config.
Best Regards
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,
To clarify, the issue, in this case, is the "Prompt" shown in your first screenshot is that correct?
Unless I misunderstand, this prompt is related to the "Find by name (User Vault)" it seems the entry name entered in this field cannot be found in your "User Vault". Could you confirm that the name entered in this field match the name of your "Credentials" entry located in the "User Vault"? This would be case-sensitive.
Let me know,
Best regards,

Hi,
Yes the Prompt is the "problem".
I don't have that user in my vault because I don't use it/ don't have access to it, but even tough that shouldn't spam the prompt, I can understand why it shows but the problem is there is no way to ignore that, or there is and I didn't found it?
Kind regards
Hello,
Thank you for your reply,
I see, in that case, If you simply leave the "Find by name (User vault)" field empty, when launching the entry you will be prompted with a list of the available credentials entries from your user vault without receiving the initial error.
Let me know if this helps,

Hi,
The problem is if I do that, I will break the connection for all other colleague in the company that use that.
I was looking for an answer in the lines of, there is a check you uncheck to avoid that, but if there is no better solution that creating empty entries on my user vault for those, so be it.
Kind Regards
Hello,
Thank you for your reply,
I see, in that case, you could use User Specific Settings to perform the change on the entry. This would ensure that only your own user is affected by the change and not your colleagues.
We have the following knowledge base article regarding this: https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/edit_userspecificsettings.html
