"Unable to load the SQLite datasource. The saved master key is invalid" after update to 2022.3.24.0
I've looked up the other issues with this error message in the forums and they don't seem to be related.
After upgrading to 2022.3.24.0 I see the title error. If I try to edit the connection and test with Master key password, it says "Failed".
I can roll back to 2022.2.29.0 and it works fine, which I am currently continuing to use as a workaround.
OS: Win11 22H2 x64.
Any thoughts on things to try?
Hi lbrabham,
I'm sorry you're having issues with your SQLite datasource. In order to help you, I'm trying to reproduce the error on my development machine.
Here are the steps I tried for reproducing your error:
1. Install 2022.2.29
2. Create a SQLite datasource with a password (I assume this is the password you are talking about?)
3. Create an RDP connection with a password
4. Upgrade RDM to 2022.3.24
5. Open the datasource (This is where you are having issues?)
6. Edit the connection (change the password)
So far this gave me no error. Are there extra steps you think I could take to reproduce?

Philippe Paré
Hi Philippe!
Thanks so much for your quick response, and I apologize for my delay, had to address other issues. I had rolled back to 2022.2.29 which I have been using as a workaround.
I tried to update today to 2022.3.29.0 64-Bit and still had the same issue. I've realized the problem however. It was never an issue with a master key password - I had not in fact ever set one up initially until I began attempting to troubleshoot this.
The actual issue: I am using this in a corporate environment with my documents (and subsequently, my RDM files) redirected to a network share that it looks like hasn't had some adjustments made from a recent zero day hotfix. I moved my files to a location locally on my PC (which I should have done immediately during testing but hey, we all make mistakes) and it works as intended now, and I'll be following up on the server hotfixes.
Maybe it will help someone else to note that this error can show up as a false indicator of what, in this case, was actually a TLS/SSL issue via SMBv3 when trying to access the source files remotely.
Also, to note that rolling back to 2022.2.29 is potentially a short-term workaround for any users that need to use that setup for some reason while they get their server patching in order.
Thanks for getting back to us with the fix to your issue.
I'll take note of the workaround and source of the issue. If I can be of any other assistance, please let me know or open an other ticket on the forum.

Philippe Paré
Hi,
I have the same issue here in my Terminal Server environment, where users have a roaming profile and folder redirection.
It is not possible to store the data locally and I have no idea what exactly causes this issue.
Do you have more details for me, please?
Thanks,
Thorsten
Hello Thorsten,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
Since you have already opened a support case with us, we will assist you through it and update this forum thread accordingly.

Hello,
same issue here. Upgraded from 2022.2.23 to 2023.2.12. Server2019 with folder redirection. Any News?
Thanks
Martin
Hello Martin,
Could you please confirm if you are using the SQLite (local) data source in a network share? If so, sharing an SQLite data source on a network drive has never been supported. The fact that it worked for you in the previous version is just a coincidence and not something that was intended. This limitation does not come from us but from SQLite itself. That said, you may want to keep an eye out on this thread: https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/39755/data-source-question#178110

Hello Richard,
oh not good... thank you for the fast response.
Yes I'm using a SQLite as template for new Users and the file lies on the users home drive. For my self I'm using a XML file which is working. But as I have read in your linked thread XML is not supported for the licensed version. For me it is working so where are the Problems with XML and licensed version?
Best regards,
Martin
Hello Martin,
As mentioned by David, it is to
address the issue that even on the SQLite website, it is explicitly mentioned that SQLite is not supported on a network drive. I have always been receiving numerous error reports from users who are encountering problems with SQLite on network drives.
Currently, there are no plans to add Enterprise activation on XML data sources.
Best regards,
