Move session with sub-entries orphanes sub-entries in RDM 2022.3.8.0
Hi,
In RDM 2022.3.8.0, when moving main entries (using right-click > Move) with sub-entries to another folder, only the main session items are moved and the sub-entries get left behind in the old folder as regular entries, with no apparent way to put them back as sub-entries of the moved main entry.
Database type is MySQL, upgraded from 2022.2. I did not try this with the Windows version of RDM.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the main entries had a status of "Disabled".

Hi,
This might have to do with changes that have been made to the way sub-entry now works in RDM.
I'm opening a ticket to investigate this. We'll post back when a fix is found.
In the mean time, could you confirm that if you select the entry and it's sub entries when doing the move, that the sub entries gets moved too?

Hi,
I've done some testing and it seems to be related to the database upgrade. Newly created entries with sub-entries get moved without any issue, regardless of whether they are selected. Entries created before the upgrade seem to have this problem.

Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to investigate more! It's interesting, I would not expect migrated entries to be different than created entries. We'll have to check this out.

Hi,
I can reproduce the issue with old entries by creating a folder in the entry's current folder, then moving the entry (I select the entry itself, not the sub-entries) to that folder. The main entry itself gets moved, and the sub-entries (there were two in my last test) are left behind and are added at the bottom of the list in that folder (i.e. looks like sorting doesn't take hold) and variable translation no longer works.
I've added a screenshot (sensitive info redacted) to illustrate: the green entry is the main entry which is moved. The red ones are its sub-entries:
EDIT: looks like the entries are still considered to be sub-entries: I'm unable to change the Folder when editing (it is grayed out).

Hi jellehillen,
This should now be fixed as of RDM Mac 2023.1.5.0.
