Alternative Login mask for RDP

avatar

On my machine I can't use the regular RDP login window because of an "interesting" implementation of a 2FA software we have to use.
That's why I found the workaround to switch the protocoll to FreeRDP. That way a login window from Remote Desktop Manager itself appears and I can login without any issues.
Is there any way to force the use of this built in login mask rather than the one windows uses by default?
I'd much rather use the regular RDP than FreeRDP because of some small details.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us on this matter!

Let me verify with our engineering team to see if that would be possible to implement.

I will get back to you as soon as I have their response!

Hello,

I had a quick discussion with one of my colleagues from the engineering team, and they would like to clarify a few points.

  • Do you only need to enter your Username and Password to log into your session, or do you also have a 2FA prompt to validate?
  • Are you being prompted for your credentials because the autofill of credentials is not supported on your remote hosts, or because you configured the entry to manually enter your login information?

Thanks a lot for talking to your colleagues!
I just need to login with username / password, no 2FA needed.
Also I'm being promted to enter my credentials because that's the way I configured it.
When using saved credentials the "normal" RDP works aswell because there is no prompt but we intentially configured it to ask for credentials every time.

Hello,

Thank you for your response!

I just opened a feature request ticket so our engineering team can look into the possibility of implementing your request!

We will update this forum thread when we have new information to share about the case!
