Hi all.
Using RDM Free Edition. There is already OpenVPN support in it. What I need to learn is; that is it possible to connect a machine with its local IP when VPN is active.
Our server is behind a firewall which would allow RDP session to its remote IP only from our office IPs. When outside the office, we use OpenVPN, then we connect to this server's RDP session with its local IP. Can we automate this scenario in RDM, without adding two different sessions one with remote IP and one with local IP?
Hello,
please have a look at the Alternate host section in the session properties:
As example:
Set the external IP in the host and the private IP as alternate host.

That's exactly what I was looking for thank you. Also I noticed that if you just enter the IP as alternate, it will use the default RDP port and NOT the port you set for this machine. You need to explicitly specify the port with the alternate host too. Like 192.168.168.15:5645
I can use the alternate host now but I can not use the VPN advantage. I need to manually open the OpenVPN Connect client and connect manually before RDPing. I think it deserves another topic so I will let this one be.
