Hi all,
we are currently in the process of doubling up on our backup efforts. While we have a daily backup of RDMs MSSQL database we'd like to have an additional .rdm export.
While trying to achieve this I've run into a problem of not being able to export sessions from RDM.
Under file I can export a list of all connections to csv, however that's insufficient as it creates all sessions as RDP, even web and SSH entries. When selecting any or all entries from the list Exporting is greyed out.
I have looked at the documentation and it suggests that exporting and importing must be on - my user Account is set as an administrator within RDM and I've looked up and down the settings menu for something to enable exporting, to no avail. When I look under datasource details it also says that I can import and export entries. I've tried starting RDM as an administrator but the result is the same. What am I missing, or is exporting all entries not possible (anymore)?
Hello,
Could you please check if the Allow reveal password for administrator and authorized users is enabled in Administration - System Settings - Password Policy?
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
Thanks, that did the trick.
For me export is still failing after enabling "Allow reveal password for administrator and authorized users (Ctrl+Alt+Enter).
Hello gordonn,
What RDM version are you using?
What data source type are you using?
Have you enabled the Export permission in Administration - System Permissions?

Hello,
Thank you for the information.
We are unable to reproduce this behaviour locally.
Are you able to copy one of those entries with right-click - Clipboard - Copy?
Could you please try again the export operation with the Profiler dialog opened (Help - Profiler) with the Debug level set to 1?
Then, please send us the profiler report.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
The profiler showed that there was an access denied to my share. I was able to save the file locally.
Thank you!
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. That's a good news the profiler report has identified the problem.
To avoid performance problem, please set the Debug level back to 0.
Let us know if there anything else regarding the export feature in RDM.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
