Hi,
I want to create a remote X session to a linux server (RedHat). How can do that ? Because I have the following message error "unable to find the xlaunch.exe application. make sure it's installed and check to the configured path in the application options".
Regards and thanks for your help
Olivier
Hello Olivier,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
Would it be possible for you to provide me with screenshots of the configuration of the entry you are using to establish this connection? Are you able to establish this connection outside of RDM? If so, which tool are you using?
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hi James,
I can do a ssh connection to this server.
Now, I can see the x-win session but without contians.

Hello,
Thank you for your swift reply!
The Xming entry in RDM is pretty limited. As per the information I have gathered on that matter, it simply launches Xming using its command line and loads that XLaunch Configuration file you have selected.
Do you receive an empty window if you launch Xming outside of RDM via the command line?
Best regards,
James Lafleur

Hello,
Are you using Putty to establish your SSH connection to this Linux machine outside of RDM?
After doing research on that matter, I have found the following help topic that should help you launch an XMing session outside of RDM http://www.straightrunning.com/xmingnotes/setupcmdline.htm
Once the connection works outside of RDM, launching your X Window entry from RDM should work as well.
