disable clipboard notifications?

something that bugs me for years, but now I am asking ;) : Is there a way to disable these bloody notification panels which lay over my right hand side navigation for secons and can't be clicked away?

also, maybe something for R&D, could there be a quicker way to copy credentials to clipboard? right now, you need to search the session entry in navigation, right click the entry, search for the menu entry in between 22 menu entries. maybe some kind of quick menu that pops up when hovering over a session entry in navigation or a button in the top menu of a session?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter!

Although it is not currently possible to fully disable the clipboard notifications, we do have some options that may help make them less of an inconvenience to you.

Under File > Options Application, there are two options that can affect these notifications. Allow close button will allow you, as the name indicated, to close this pop up via a button in the pop up. Close after will allow you to reduce the time RDM displays the notification. I believe the minimal duration for this option is two seconds.

Regarding your second question, it would be possible to configure keyboard shortcuts to more quickly perform the copy to clipboard. Under File Options Keyboard, the Clipboard Copy options should be the first you see. This menu will allow you to configure a keyboard shortcut, between other things, to "Clipboard - Copy Username", "Clipboard - Copy Password" and "Clipboard - Copy Username and Password".

Hello,

As a follow-up to my previous message, our engineering team has also opened a ticket to implement an option to outright disable the notification pop-ups!

Ok, this helped a lot. Can you add an option for a keyboard shortcut to copy the OTP for a session to the clipboard?

BTW, what I always wonderd: the option "copy username & password" - what is it supposed to do? here nothing happens and never has..

Hello,

I apologize for the delay in my response.

Regarding your request for a Clipboard - Copy OTP keyboard shortcut, I will open an improvement ticket for our engineering team.

Regarding the Copy Username and Password feature, the name pretty much describes what it is supposed to do. It copies the username and password of the selected entry in one action, and allows the user to paste them one after the other (with one paste for each). Since this is not a standard copy feature, there are some things that can interfere with it and prevent it from working as expected, the most common offender being the Windows Clipboard History feature.

thanks, re clipboard/username - I see, yes I am using a clipboard manager, so this is the problem.

Hello,

We've added an option to turn off the balloon notifications (it can be found in the same section as the other options related to this feature), and we've also added a shortcut option to use the Copy OTP feature (which can be found in the same section as the other copy features).

Both of these should be available with the upcoming version: 2022.3.4.
