Hello,
We don't know if the following is by design, or if it is a bug. We tried to change the User Interface / Color to inherited in a previously selected folder. We noticed in fact that selecting the root node of our tree and doing Batch Edit from there affects only the sessions, but not the folders.
So we multi-selected explicitly the folders and tried Batch Edit only on them, but again: the changes are not applied to the folders. We know we could resort to PowerShell eventually to achieve what we want, but still it would be nice to know if we have hit a bug or a known limitation.
Thanks.
Hello,
For being able to update folders using the Batch Edit feature, we need to use the Advanced search.
Filter the entries using Connection type filter and Folder type. Then select all folders you want to modify using the Batch Edit.
Let me know if that helps.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
Hello Érica,
Thank you for the prompt answer, it works! Maybe we did overlook in the documentation, we don't know.
Unfortunately setting the color has also reset the sort priority of the folders. We know it's a different matter, but yet it's an annoyance (maybe separated overrides for the different sections in the User Interface department would help? Just an idea).
Thanks again.
Edit: typos
Hello,
Thank you for feedback.
About the sort priority of the folders, instead of going in User Interface section to update the folders' color, it is possible to set it in General section to select a different icon color.
I will ask our engineering team to improve the Batch Edit dialog to individually select the option under User Interface section so it won't affect other options if they are not selected.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
Hi Érica,
Probably we are talking about different colors. The one we are referring to is this, in the User Interface:
We want to reset that color to Inherited, but in doing this everything in the User Interface will be set to a value, as there is a single Override for all the section:
Thanks for your follow-up.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
That's right, the solution I provided is a workaround. As you want to set the Color parameter to Inherited, it's only available in the User Interface section.
Nonetheless, I've submitted an improvement ticket to override the Tab page, Color and Miscellaneous properties separately like what you will find in some other sections. It should look like this once the fix will be available.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
Hello,
We've added sections for specific overrides of the user interface during batch edits (as presented in the screenshot above), these should be available for 2022.3.6.

Thank you for the info and improvement, Jafran.
