Hi
I have an RDP connection configure like this:
When I open this connection I get 2 windows:
The "Undocked" and the fullscreen.
If I change "Remote Desktop size" to "Default" and open the connection "embedded/tabbed" and manually changes the size to full size, I only get 1 window.
Could this be changed so my original configuration only shows the "RDP" window?
The issue here is probably that I ask the connection to be undocked, which makes the "connection window" pop out, but if I choose "embedded (tabbed)" I can't define fullscreen and which screen the fullscreen should be on.
So some way to tell the connection that it should be docked, but still be able to till that the RDP connection should be external, and on a specified window.
And, maybe af feature request, but I feel I have seen it before but cant find the seeting :), is it possible to have your connection bar even in fullscreen?

Hello Lars,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
I will open a ticket with our Engineering Department in order to see what can be done about the first part of your message. As per the information, I have gathered, we have little control over the "Fullscreen" mode.
As for your second request, would it be possible for you to provide me with a screenshot of the "Connection Bar" you are referring to?
Also, I just wanted to let you know that I will move this thread to the "feature Request" section of our forum.
Best regards,

Hello Lars,
Our Engineering Department might have found a way to achieve what you are looking for with the options that RDM already has!
Would it be possible for you to set the display of your RDP entry to "Undocked":
Then head over to the "Display" and set the "Remote Desktop Size" to "Current work area size":
Once you launch your RDP connection, you should have the following result:
Let us know if that works for you!

Hi
Yes, I have another RDP configured like this, and it works perfect.
But I would like this entry to be Fullscreen, not "Work area".

Hello,
Thank you for your swift reply!
I understand, I will add this information to the ticket opened with our Engineering Department and get back to you when we will have an update to provide.
Best regards,

On a side note, would it be possible for you to provide us a screenshot of what is missing when you are using the "Undocked" display with the "Remote Desktop Size" set to "Current work area size"?

Hello,
We have no update to provide on that matter just yet. That being said, we will post in this thread as soon as we do.

I'd like to have the same exact possibility. I don't like te blue standard RDP bar on fullscreen. I like the RDM hotbar but it's not real fullscreen, it's just maximized. I don't want to hide my host taskbar forever because I need to use it once in a while and I don't want to hide it temporarily because it shows up whenever I want to do something on guest taskbar and touch the bottom edge.
Hello @Woo-Cash ,
Just to confirm with you, you say the following:
I don't want to hide my host taskbar forever because I need to use it once in a while and I don't want to hide it temporarily because it shows up whenever I want to do something on guest taskbar and touch the bottom edge.
If we implement the feature that was originally requested, then the task bar on your machine would not be visible as the RDP entry would be in what would basically be "full screen", just handled through RDM rather than MSTSC. Maybe I don't understand what you mean, do you have an example of this behavior in another app, or maybe with some screen captures?

And that's exactly what I'd like to have. I want fullscreen with your hotbar instead of blue standard bar. The thing is that sometimes I misclick minimize and hit "back to windowed" instead. And it gives me a few clicks to go back to fullscreen. In your hotbar this kind of misclick is impossible. And it looks nicer, it hides itself.
Perfect, thank you for the confirmation. I will see if this is something we can bring back in our development cycles. We will have to decide how best to have this behavior take place, to make sure other users who have that configuration and are happy with the behavior, don't have this change on them.

Hello,
We've changed the Undocked - Fullscreen to properly size itself over the task bar, and use the Undocked toolbar for actions at the top. This will take effect with the upcoming 2026.1.2 version.
