We use Mateso Password Safe and are very happy that RDM can grab passwords from there. OTP is prompted at the first connection to the PWS.
We want that additionally the (PWS) password is also prompted at the first use so that we have MFA there, too.
But it should not prompted at every connection. Once (a day) is enough.
Hello,
Could you explain in more details what you mean?
Currently we prompt for the login if you have not connected to the same combination of username, host and database. Once you have done this once I believe we stop prompting you until you restart RDM.
So unless you have not connected to Mateso already with that specific combination, you will be prompted once for your MFA when using a Mateso credential entry and then you should not be prompted until you close RDM.
What is the thing that needs to change from the current behavior to achieve what you need?

Hi Michael,
At the moment only the second factor (OTP) is prompted at first connection to the Password Safe. We want RDM to ask for the users' password (first factor) and OTP at the first connection to Password Safe.
Best regards

Hello,
Our Mateso setup has expired so we can't test immediately. However, would it be possible for you to try to activate the setting "Always ask password" and see if it works as you intend it to?

With this option the password is prompted every time we open a RDP connection (etc.). We only want being prompted for first and second factor one time after start of RDM.
Thank you for your clarifications. We will open a ticket to reactivate our Mateso setup and see what we can do about your feature request.
