I have just installed RDM Free, and am using it to connect to a set of VMs that I manage for the team.
I see that there are various additional columns available for the Navigation Pane; 'host' is populated, as I am setting that in the session objects; I also see 'ping' and 'status', but they are not populated.
I know that I can manually check that a VM 'is alive', or kick off a one-off or continuous ping which pushes results to a new tab on the dashboard.
But is there some way of automating an 'is alive' or ping at a configurable frequency (once an hour, minute, etc.) and have the result posted to a column on the nav pane?
Thanks and best regards

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us regarding this,
From my understanding what you're looking for would be the "Is online" feature, you can find it by going under "File" -> "Background services" -> "Is Online" both the frequency and detection method can be configured.
We have the following knowledge base article regarding this feature: https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/background-services.html?q=is+online#is-online
Let me know if this helps,
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hi Samuel
thanks for the prompt response.
I do not see Background Services in my menu, nor any mention anywhere of Synchronizers, so am I right in thinking that that feature is only available in the paid-for version of RDM? As mentioned, I am using 'RDM Free'.
Cheers

Hello,
Thank you for your reply,
My apologies for missing this, indeed you're correct I'm afraid this is not available in the Free Edition of RDM.
Let me know if you have further questions,
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hello,
Just to let you know, we discussed internally and we have opened a ticket to remove this limitation in RDM Free. We will post back in this thread once it's available.
