how to use HP ILO 2

avatar

Hi All,

im wondering if anybody has gotten ILO2 to work properly for remote control with RDM?

ive tried the ILO Web - but that only shows the web panel and no control is possible

ive tried the Web Browser - again displays the page fine, but click control and all i get is javascript pop up errors
(i made sure to select internet explorer as the browser to allow to use the .net plugin)

i even tried the standalone app, but again that only works for ilo 3 upwards

any help/suggestions would be amazing!

Regards

Simon

Hello,

I do not believe we found a way to make it work in embedded mode in Remote Desktop Manager. We would recommend using the a Web Browser entry (Http/Https) and launch the session in External mode. forum image

Hi Etienne,

this method doesnt work because it automatically opens my default browser (firefox)
and if i set it to Internet Explorer, it still open up edge?

the only way ive gotten it to work so far is very complex but do-able with edge and the activex plugin

open edge and enable the IE mode - https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk/how-to-use-internet-explorer-mode-in-the-microsoft-edge-browser-for-windows-11

visit the IP address, then click integrated remote console, and install the active x then refresh the website in IE mode again, and away it goes, works a treat !?

the javascript error im getting happens when i click the integrated remote console saying unable to get property 'focus' of undefined or null reference which is when i notice another tab has opened but it fails to load the page even though the link in the address bar is correct

Hello,

It does seem to open Edge, you could use IE as your default browser if enabled. Otherwise, since this is not officially supported, you could indeed continue to use your own Workaround!
