Hello,
For the moment, you can only set the OS version in a RDP entry, it would be handy to be able to add the SQL version aswell.

Hello,

There currently is a "software" field where you can enter a list of multiple values:

Is there a reason this field doesn't work for your usage?

Hello,
We already use this field.
We use RDM as a sort of CMDB, we create a report that shows the servername and OS (external clients).
Typing the SQL server version (we don't care about SSMS version) is more administrative work than using a drop down.

Second question, can you add Windows Server 2022 to the asset OS type list please?

Hello,

For Windows Server 2022 we have added it to the OS list, it will be available in our first release of RDM 2022.2.

I understand what you mean regarding a drop down field being easier. Maybe we could add a configurable list of selectable software? That way, it could work with more than just SQL Server versions, you could add to this list any kind of software you know you'll be setting on your entries. Something similar to the configurable tags in the System Settings, which allow a "default" set of tags to easily be configurable on entries. What do you think?

Hello Hubert,

That would work perfectly for us.
Do you have a planning for the RDM 2022.2 version?

Thank you for the confirmation. I've opened a ticket with this information. We will post back on this thread when we have an update on the feature.

As for RDM 2022.2, our planned release is this June, and a beta version should be available in the coming days/weeks.

@Hubert: Thank you for your feedback.
A second handy feature would be to have a report that has following features:
Show all servers equal or less than Windows Server X or SQL version X for example.

Now we can create reports based on folders.

Hello,
OS 2022 is avaiable since 2022.2.12 for that I thank you.
The SQL option is not available correct?

Hello,

As you say the report is not available yet, but the ticket is still opened.

We have also added the default software list. If you go in Administration > System Settings, there is now a Software tab:

Then when you are editing your entry, you will be able to add them:

There are a few UI tweaks we will be performing soon as well to improve this experience but hopefully this can help you.

Hello,

Thank you for the information.
It's a few clicks in the UI for now, but it's ok.

The report for the server that I tested with looks perfect:

With the custom fields it was a bit messy.
