RealVNC installed but not listed when creating new VNC session
I have RealVNC installed under "C:\Program Files\RealVNC\VNC Viewer\vncviewer.exe" and I can see in the Path configuration of RDM that it says the application is ready to use.

However when I go to create a new VNC entry, RealVNC is not an option for me to select.

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what I need to do in order to use RealVNC here. I have older VNC sessions that use RealVNC, but I'm unable to edit the configurations for those now, which I assume is related.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
In order for you to use "RealVNC" you will need to change the "Display" of your VNC entry from "Embedded to "External". In doing so, you will see "RealVNC" in the "VNC Application" dropdown.
Let me know if that helps!

Hi James, thanks for the quick response. I changed the settings like you suggested and RealVNC was available in the dropdown. However I'm still unable to configure the Credentials Settings. The only thing I'm able to click on is Password History. Everything else is grayed out.
Hello,
Thank you for your swift reply!
These sections are grayed out because the options it contains are not supported when the "External" display is used. Most of the time, this is due to the fact that the VNC application may not have a command to send these parameters.

Hi James, I'm a little confused then. As you can see from my 5th screenshot, I had been able to configure those settings at one point. I'm not sure how you would ever be able to configure a working connection if you're not able to specify any connection credentials.
Hello,
Sorry for the confusion, I hope that the following explanation will help.
By choosing the "External" display, the connection will be launched through your VNC client outside of RDM. The only information that will be used is the "Host" set under the "General" tab of your VNC entry.
If you would like to use a specific configuration, you will need to replace the "Custom Configuration" option with the "Config Filename" option. Doing so will allow you to choose a configuration file exported from VNC (.VNC file).
