Using RDM on Windows, connecting to Macs with ARD session type, authentication type set to "ARD Ask Control". This pops up a message on the user's screen asking them if they'd like to share their screen. Problem is, RDM waits about 5 seconds before it gives up and cancels the connection attempt, so the user only has about 5 seconds to click "Share screen". Is there a way to increase this timeout somewhere?
Hello,
I will check if it's something we can configure.

Hello, any news on whether this is possible?
Hello,
We have opened a ticket so we can add a way to configure this. We will get back to you once we have an update.

Hello ryanbutler
After taking a closer look at your question, I think the general connection timeout on the ARD session should fit your requirements. It defaults to 10s, which, given the time to bootstrap the ARD connection before the "Screen Sharing" prompt is actually shown indeed doesn't leave a lot of time for the user to click "Accept".
You can try increasing this value to something more appropriate (for example 30 or 60s - 30000 / 60000ms)
Please let me know if that helps.
Thanks and kind regards

Was that connection timeout setting always there or is that a relatively new feature? I feel like I would have seen that and tried it back when I originally posted. In any case, I will give that a try. Is there a way to set a longer timeout as a default for new connections? Or will I need to manually set a longer timeout for each ARD session I create?
Hello again
I did some digging on this. I'm not sure when that setting was added, although it was likely some time ago. That said - I believe a bug might have meant the setting only applied to VNC entries, not ARD entries until quite recently (within the last 2 months or so). Internally, ARD entries are just a specialization of VNC. So it's possible that you tried this before and determined it didn't work - but it should do with a current RDM release.
In order to default this setting, currently the only way that I see is to create an entry template with the value you want, and then create your ARD entries using that template. If you don't know how to do that, please let me know and I can provide some more detailed instructions.
Moving forward, it would make more sense for us to allow configuring the default in the program options. I'll update the ticket that was created earlier to reflect this, and we'll post back here once that's available.
In the meantime, please do let me know if adjusting this setting resolves the original question for you.
Thanks and kind regards,
