Windows 11 - Powershell Remote Console - Embedded Not Working

avatar

I've recently upgraded to Windows 11 (21H2) and have noticed that PowerShell Remote Consoles no longer embed into the application. They open in to an external window. I assume that this is because the Windows Terminal app is now the registered console application for Windows 11. This normally wouldn't be an issue, but it does appear to "lock up" my RDM application until I close the window because it takes the active focus away. I can confirm that editing the settings to set the PowerShell remote console to "external" instead doesn't have the issue, but I'm wondering if there is a workaround (or upcoming patch) that will allow me to leave it as embedded?

Hello Luke,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter!

Which version of RDM and what type of Data Source you are currently using?

Best regards,

Hi James,
Currently I'm on version 2022.1.13.0 (Enterprise) & my data source is a local DB.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello Luke,

I just tested your issue with RDM 2022.1.17 on a Windows 11 (21H2) machine and the PowerShell Remote Console is embedded in RDM, as expected.

What version of RDM are you running?

Hi Richard,
I'm sorry for the delay, I missed the notification that you had replied. I just upgraded today to Enterprise 2022.1.20 (64-bit) and the problem still persists on my end. Would you like to set up a session to do a screenshare and see it first hand?
