Cluster records in RDM

avatar

We managed 1000's of servers and it is my understanding that it is suggested that Sub Connections not be used. So my question is how do you managed cluster records in RDM?

Ideally we would create a record for the cluster and under it the Individual servers that make up that cluster. We don't do that currently as SubConnections do not show when used with the filter.

Before I try to reinvent the wheel just wanted to see what the best practice was here...

Hello,

There really isn't a limit of session that you can create in your Datasource, in order to have the best performances, we recommend around 2000-2500 sessions max per vault. If you reach over that number, we would recommend splitting them into different Vaults : https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/rdm_administration_vaults_overview.html

Also, instead of using Sub connections, you could create Host session(s) and session templates (RDP and SSH for example) to connect to that Host instead of creating individual RDP and SSH Sessions. https://kb.devolutions.net/rdm_host_with_templates.html
