Use smart card to login ssh

Hi,
i'm trying to use smartcard to login to my remote ssh. so on connections properties, i've checked "Use smartcard" and CAPI as certificate method like you see on this screenshot:


so i'm expecting that when i open this connection, use smartcard instead password, but every time connection asks me password.
So how can i set login with smartcard? and also how can i set only username and use smartcard for password?
capi method it's correct, i'm using it with securecrt and it works very well but i'm evaluating rdm to switch to a new software.

Thank you for contacting us regarding this!

I have a few questions which you can hopefully answer.

  • Which version of RDM are you using?
  • Which type of data source are you using? By default, RDM will create an SQLite data source.


I would also like to confirm if you're able to achieve this outside RDM currently? I'm assuming so since you mention it is working well with SecureCRT.

i've 2021.2.28.0 64-BIT on my windows 10
i'm using default data source, it's a fresh installation of rdm.
yes on securecrt everything works with CAPI

That being said, we're wondering if you can attempt with the "Certificate Method" in your entry "Properties" set to "Try all mode", does the issue persists?

I have some news regarding your case.

This issue should be resolved in RDM 2022.1.8.0, unfortunately, I do not have a release date for this version at this time.

Thank you for contacting us regarding this,

Could you confirm the PIN entered in your entry "Properties" is correct? If let empty from my understanding you will be prompted for it when attempting the connection, do you encounter the same issue when entering the PIN at that time?
