In my opinion is very useful for me and my colleagues have the active VPNs (launched through RDM) in the running session.
At the moment we have more or less 100 VPN entries (Forticlient SSL) ihat we use to connect to our customers' infrastructures ..
Sometime I completely forget which VPN is active. If the VPN was in the running session, it's more easy to know which VPN is running and connect.

Hello,
This is really difficult to implement. We have no easy way to detect an opened VPN. We have some features to check the network adapter. Have you tried it to see if we can detect it accurately?

Hi David,
when I launch a VPN connection through RDM, the VPN entry in the Navigation tab becomes "active" (green icon, and bold characters)
when I close a VPN connection through RDM, the VPN entry in the Navigation tab coming back to previous status (no longer "active")
VPN entries are the only entry that don't appears in the running session even if in the navigation tab are "active".

Marco
Hello,
Does it work for all type of VPN and if you close the VPN manually outside of RDM, do you get the same result?

If I close the VPN manually, outside RDM, RDM doesn't recognize that VPN has been closed. But it's not an issue for me.
In my humble opinion is more critical don't have the active VPN (lanched by RDM) in the running session (even if are "zombie" (open by RDM and closed manually)).
Anyway we always close , VPN launched by RDM, through RDM

Hello,
I've been looking into it and we seem to have a few features already in place that should work, even for VPNs.
I can properly see my VPN if I go in the opened sessions tab, and switch to "running sessions (global)":
There is also an icon in the status bar to show when a VPN is connected:
When the icon is clicked, it will focus the VPN in the navigation pane:
Let me know if this works for you, or if I've missed something in your scenario.

Hubert Mireault
Hi Hubert,
you are right.
I never checked the "running sessions (global)": but always the "running sessions (local)":
Why the VPN is not showed in the local?
I ask you this because:
Now you have more details in order to help us.

Hello Marco,
Thank you for the information, I understand what you mean. I've opened a ticket with this information, so that we can find a good way to add the running VPN to the "tab group" pane.
To answer your question, the difference between the two "running sessions" is the following:

Really thanks Hubert,
I hope you can find useful my request.
If you have opened an internal ticket, I think the answer is yes.
