I noticed this a few updates back but though it was something personal.
Generally I have RDM open all the time and only close it for a Windows update or to install a new RDM version.
I found some months back (I think it was after an RDM update) that on re-opening RDM my SQLite db was no longer listed.
It is hosted on the A drive which is a VeraCrypt volume - I put the problem down to that.
After today's reboot I decided to test this so I copied the SQLite file to my regular hard drive and linked it into RDM.
I then closed RDM. It warned I had some sessions open and I replied to continue to close.
In the old days, when re-opening it would offer to re-open the previous sessions and it would obviously list all my existing sites.
Now this never happens. After every close the only data source that shows is the Local one (which is empty) and I have to manually add the data source again.
Not a major issue as I rarely close down but still it is not as it should be. I'm on 2021.2.26.0 64-BIT
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
I would like to ask you a few questions to give me a better idea of what could be causing this issue.
Best regards,
Gabriel Degrandpré
I have only created one. There is the preset entry of the Local one which I ignore.
I was not actually aware of a portable version - this one is not portable.
I just closed and re-opened and did not receive any messages. Help > Register product shows my email address and Serial number.
Hello,
Thank you for your response!
In that case, I would like to verify if the issue is related directly to your current installation of RDM, or if it goes deeper than that, by testing if the same issue occurs with a portable instance of RDM.
Here are the steps to create a portable instance of RDM :
1. Download the RDM zip folder from the link below :
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/thankyou/rdmbin
2. Extract this zip in an empty folder on your Desktop
3. Launch RemoteDesktopManager64.exe from this folder
4. Register your license
5. Establish your data source connection under File > Data Sources
Once that is done, please let me know if the same issue occurs with this instance of RDM!
Best regards,
Gabriel Degrandpré
Indeed the portable version is fine.
I have uninstalled the regular version and re-installed it - no change.
It did not ask for registration details so registry and the personal folder must still exist from before.
I suppose the next step is to reset those as well but I will wait for your advice.
I bit the bullet, uninstalled and removed the local storage (and a few registry entries) and re-installed and now all is well.
Really many thanks for all your help.
