How can i make the Synchronisation with AD work?

There seems to be no documentation, i click the preview button and it shows the Computers in the OU i've selected, then i set the destination folder and template to use but the destination folder remains empty.

if i double click the sync entry it says synchronizing for ages and nothing happens, this software is so infuriating...
