After Search, Enter does not work

After Search, Enter does not work

I upgraded RDM Free on Friday to 2021.2.26.0

Since then the behaviour of the search in the bottom left hand corner seems to have changed.

I type a partial name and up pops a list. Typically the top one, already selected, is the one I want. I press Enter and nothing happens. Now I have to double-click on the selection to activate it.

I'm sure it used to accept Enter as well.

It is rather a pain to use the mouse as I have to let go the mouse to type the name and then have to go back to the mouse.

No it is not ticked

I have tried to tick it and save - same behaviour.

Then removed tick and save - still same behaviour.

Hello,

I did some tests on my side to try to replicate the behavior you are describing, but haven't been able to reproduce the issue so far.

I would appreciate if you could do a test when you have the time. I would like to know if the same issue occurs in a brand new portable instance of RDM. This will allow us to determine if the issue is related to a configuration on your main RDM installation or if it goes deeper than that.

Here are the steps to create a portable instance of RDM :
1. Download the RDM zip folder from the link below :
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/thankyou/rdmbin
2. Extract this zip in an empty folder of your choice
3. Launch RemoteDesktopManager64.exe from this folder
4. Register your license
5. Establish your data source connection under File > Data Sources

Once that is done, please try out the search option on this instance of RDM and let us know if it works as expected.

I will try and do that in the next day or two. I will also try a PC restart to eliminate the possibility of a PC issue.

Just noticed an other change: The 'Duplicate' option has disappeared.

In the search box I used to type a partial name - a few entries came up - I right clicked on one of then and selected 'Duplicate'.

This is something I do quite often and is a major loss at the moment.

Is duplicate possibly available some other way? I need at the moment to duplicate something.

I'm pleased to say that a restart (together with a Windows update) has cured both problems.

I do have one more issue but I will start a new thread.
