Every time I launch RDM I get a certificate warning. The reason is because my firewall is blocking ad sites, and every time RDM starts it appears to want to go to some doubleclick.net site.
The error is because my firewall is intercepting it and of course the cert doesn't match the name of the site.
At first I thought it was something to do with checking for updates. But no, even with check for updates disabled, I get this.
Why is a software I paid for trying to load ads on startup?

Hello,
This is very strange. I asked our team what could be the source because this is not done on purpose. I thought at first that it was the Welcome Page. Could you try to remove it? Are you able to find the url that is causing this error?
Regards
David Hervieux
I can't see the full URL because it's HTTPS. I can see from my firewall that it's trying to go to https://stats.g.doubleclick.net
I can tell you I disabled the "Welcome" page too, and same thing.
Hello,
Could you go to File > Options > Advanced and enable No Internet connection and see if the behaviour remains?
Best regards,
Richard Boisvert
Enabling "No Internet Connection" stops the issue.
So what does "No internet Connection" do? That doesn't tell me what it's trying to do that's loading some ad site like doubleclick.net. I don't know of anything on doubleclick.net that isn't ad related. Doubleclick appears to be purely an ad related website/company.
Hello,
When the No internet is connected, RDM does not try to connect anything on the Internet. I just received the report from our security team and it seems that a call to get the newsfeed from Devolutions contains the same Google Tag Manager than our web site. It should not be the case and this will be fixed soon. Thank you for the bug report.

Hello,
We have deploy an updated version of our web page, Could you verify if you still get the certificate error?
Regards
David Hervieux
Yes it's still giving me the same thing. It's still trying to talk to doubleclick.net.
Ok FYI I tested today and now I'm not getting the error. Maybe it took a bit for the website to actually update. But as of today I'm no longer getting the cert warning, which means RDM is no longer trying to connect to some ad site on startup.
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm glad it fixed now.
