I reinstalled macOS, I have a Time Machine backup of everything before hand.
I've restored ~/Library/Application Support/com.devolutions.remotedesktopmanager.free.
On launch it tells me "the saved master key is invalid".
I never configured a key, I assumed it was just in the .cfg file.
What files do I need to restore to fix this, or is it gone?
Hello,
I just moved your thread into the RDM MacOs section.
The masterkey is configured on the connections.db file, not in the .cfg file. Do you have multiple backup of your connections.db or only one?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
When you install it creates a connections.db file and doesn't ask for any password/key etc. So it's either self generated or using some machine key.
I have several restore points for this file, however if it's using a machine key then it's probably useless. It's not a total loss, I have older .rdm exports.
Hi,
The Connections.db database encryption is disabled by default, and remains so, so long as no master key is configured for it in RDM. Maybe the file got corrupted from the backup restore?
Best regards,
Xavier Fortin
Hmmm.. I've tried several points in time going back about a month, same result each time.
I guess I have to start with my most recent .rdm export and redo any changes since.
