Sync or backup "Local default settings"

Sync or backup "Local default settings"

avatar

Hi

I would like some different default settings, when creating e.g. a new RPD session.
I have tried changing the "Local default settings" (My data source is your Online Drive) then take a complete backup and restore it again.

It does not seem like my "Local default settings" is preserved, which in one way sounds like things are in order :)

So my question is can I change the default settings for new entries in a way that they either is preserved in the vault or is backed up when I do an export of settings?

Hello nOrphf,

I see, unfortunately you're correct these would not be included in the backup.

From my understanding of your scenario I believe you could create a template of your RDP entry. Once created you could export this template and ensure you keep a copy in your desired manner.

We have the following knowledge base article regarding templates: https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/commands_creatingtemplates.html

Once created you can go under "File" -> "Options" -> "Templates" -> "Manage Templates" to either "Import" or "Export" your desired template.

I should also mention that when using an "Advanced" type of data source it's possible to save templates in the data base.

Hi

Thank you for your reply.
The “advanced” options is that only the paid, or is it possible with some of the free?

Hello nOrphf,

Indeed, "Advanced" data sources are only available in the Enterprise Edition of RDM.

Let me know if you have further questions,

Hi

My goal was to edit default settings for new RDP connections, which I have found can be done through settings, and will therefore be exported with a settings export.
Should probably not have mixed "Local default settings" in my question :D
