Dear all,
We are doing our whole documentation with dynamic reports created by a software called Docusnap. This regularly scans all the systems and then writes the reports with the collected information.
RDM has become our main software for remote connection and it also offers some kind of documentation and attachment tabs. Is there some way to:
The absolutely best way for our supporters would be to have documentation reports of servers linked at the specific entry, so when they go to the documentation tab, it would directly show the information of that system.
Note I opened DEVO-37717 for this, Etienne said I should post to this forum.
Thanks & best regards
Michael
Hello Michael,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
Since this is a feature request, I will move your post to the section of our forum dedicated to them and let our Engineering Department reply to you.
Best regards,

Hello,
I looked at the DEVO-37717 ticket as well as what you posted and I think a lot of what you need is already supported within RDM.
You can currently configure the documentation tab to be a specific HTML file (or a website). If you edit your entry, there is the documentation tab, and you can find the setting here:
If you want to point to a regular URL you only need to put it in as is. For an HTML file, you must prefix it with file:///, giving a result like this:
file:///\\myFileshare\MyReport.html
The result will be that you will have the documentation tab load the file you pointed to. In this example I also renamed the tab to "My tab title" as you can see in my previous screenshot:
Keep in mind this feature can only work with URLs or HTML files.
Regarding writing to RDM with an API, we have a Powershell module, perhaps it could work for your scenario? Otherwise, what exactly did you want to accomplish through APIs?
If I missed anything or this doesn't answer your needs, please let me know and we will see what we can do to support what you need in RDM.

Hubert Mireault
Hi Hubert,
Thanks for your quick and helpful answer. It seems that this is indeed already all we need to figure out the specific details ourselves.
I just wasn't aware that this even existed, I guess nor was the helpdesk who pointed me to the Forum with the request. :-)
Thanks again
Hello Michael,
RDM is such an extensive application that sometimes it's hard to know everything that is and isn't supported 🙂 Glad that this works for you!

Hubert Mireault
haha yeah, I also thought I knew RDM - but have never ever seen this setting. Luckily there is always someone here to help! Glad to still have companies with that level of support
