Hi all,
I'm just getting started with setting up the Teams/Enterprise version of the console to share RDP session entries between my teams.
I had some questions about this which aren't clear from the checklists/articles available.
Raised a query with support, but not getting very far at all! Hopefully someone who's recently this up can help :)
Hello Roshan,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
While we already have a ticket together to help you get started with the product, I will reply to your questions below in order for our community to benefit from them as well.
1- If using Azure SQL, can AD account synced to Azure AD be used to login to the console?
No, you will need to create your users manually. The automatic user creation is only supported with the Devolutions Server solution. For more information, please consult this link: https://server.devolutions.net/
2- If using Azure SQL, do all AD accounts using the RD Manager console need to have admin rights to the DB?
In order for your users to be able to read/write on your database, they need the db_datareader and db_datawriter membership on the database.
3- Is it more secure to use SQL Server over Azure SQL?
Both solutions are equivalent.
4- If using SQL Server, how can I set it up so I can use my normal AD account?
You would need to use "Integrated Security" as your authentication method. For more information, please consult this link: https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/datasource_sqlserver.html
5- If using SQL server, can I still set up MFA using Azure AD for when people open the console?
To use the Azure MFA, you need to opt for the SQL Azure Data Source.
6- When setting up the Azure AD App Registration, it states about using a Redirect URI, how do I find out what this is/should be?
The Redirect URL used in this link is https://mycompany.com but as stated in this link, we suggest you personalize it to the domain of your company home page. For more information, please consult this link from Microsoft: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-sql/database/active-directory-interactive-connect-azure-sql-db
Let us know if that helps!
Best regards,
James Lafleur
