Credentials not entering on a server with Duo installed

avatar

We are transitioning to using Duo for 2FA for RDP logins to Windows servers. After our first server install, when I attempt to login no credentials are entered. The entry is set to use my personal credentials. Other entries are still working fine and we just installed Duo on that server, so I'm thinking Duo is the culprit.

I'm not responsible for the Duo install and I don't really know how it works, but is this an RDM issue or something caused by having Duo installed? I tried to search for this issue but all of the results seemed to be about securing the data source with Duo.

Hello,

I suspect that you are using RDP to establish the connection with that server. Am I correct?
If it's the case, using RDC Manager from Microsoft or Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), are you able to establish the connection as expected?

I just tried it with RDC Manager and it did not enter my saved credentials either. I suppose that means it's a Duo setting/issue causing it?

Hello,

Thank you for your swift reply!

In that case, it confirms that this is a limitation of the ActiveX used to launch RDP connection using the embedded display in both RDM and RDC Manager. For this reason, this is not something that we can change in RDM and more something related to DUO settings.
