Difference in newline between Mac and Windows in several Information entry types
Hello,
I noticed in several Information entry types, such as Secure Note and Software License types that when adding or editing entries with RDM for Mac, there's a difference in how new lines are stored. Entries on RDM for Mac are stored with LF only, which causes RDM for Windows (which uses CRLF) not to properly set new lines in these entries.
Would it be possible to either adjust RDM for Mac to set CRLF for new lines, or have RDM for Windows properly detect LF as proper new lines?

I will open a ticket for this. We will have to investigate what would be the best solution permanent solution. Just changing the way we save those fields in RDM Mac would still require any users to manually save all their sessions.

Hi,
Have you noticed this in other fields than the one in Secure Notes and Software Licences? Those values are encoded, this is probably why the newlines are preserved as is (since the newlines do not appear in the encoded data in the serialized entry). This means we'll have to fix them individually.

As far as I can tell I only noticed this in Secure Notes and Licenses, although I must admit these two are most commonly used information entry types we use in our vaults.

This should be fixed in the latest version of RDM Mac (2021.2.7.0) and was fixed in a previous version of RDM Windows.
Could you confirm if it is indeed fixed for you?
