Hello all,
I have a question: We have finally bought a license for work. We are several teams that work separately (eg network, data center, etc.). But now, of course, there are always points of contact between the teams, ie I want to share an entry with a colleague from another team.
My plan now was to set up a MS SQL database and divide the individual teams into Vaults. In doing so, each user would only be assigned to their vault, so can't see the others.
How would you do that with sharing entries? Of course I don't want to share everything with everyone all the time, but only single entries.
I can't really find a solution for this.
Hello,
The easiest way would be to share the vault of the other teams as well and set the permissions for view and connect (execute) on the entries you wish to share. They will not see any of the folders or entries that they do not have the view permissions.
The easiest way would be in a "shared" folder, so you can simply apply the right at the folder level, and then set the permissions of the entries to inherited. If this is not feasible or makes it awkward for the team, you can share just the entries, but make sure that all the folders part of the path to the file have view permissions. If the view right is broken at a certain point, the entry will not be viewable.
Best regards,
