Hello,

if you've linked an credential entry to this ssh session (and of course the password is the same what you want to insert) you can use the variable $PASSWORD$ - but for this is it necessary to enable the Passwort Variable zulassen in the ssh session and the linked credential entry

Hello,

Thank you for contact the Devolutions Support Team.

This is definitely possible but there are some steps that need to be done firstly.
Under Administration > System Settings > Password Policy > Allow Password in variable needs to be activated.
On both the Password and SSH entry > Security Settings > Allow Password in variable needs to be active.

Then the way to do this is using $PASSWORD$.

Hello,

what you mean with

Whit this configuration i get always the Password action after "sudo apt update"

Nothing will be filled in? Also not the third command?

You can check the variable like a this screenshot:

After the connection a new window occurs and the password will be shown.
Of course you can set this also in Vor Verbindungsaufbau.

Hello,

I wanted to add that:

  1. The Credential entry needs to have the Allow Password variable enabled.
  2. The SSH entry needs to have the Allow Password variable enabled.
  3. Under Administration > System Settings > Password Policy > Allow Password needs to be enabled.

Then the $PASSWORD$ should work without issue.

Hello @all,

as Eric wrote that we need 3 Stepps:

  1. The Credential entry needs to have the Allow Password variable enabled.
  2. The SSH entry needs to have the Allow Password variable enabled.
  3. Under Administration > System Settings > Password Policy > Allow Password needs to be enabled.

I missing on my site step 1 the user Credential Settings / Security and then Allow Password variable.
Sorry for my fault.

Many thank's for helping!
