RDM & Windows 7 & PuTTy Problem

RDM & Windows 7 & PuTTy Problem

avatar

Hi there,

Since i installed Win 7, putty connections via RDM result in "Invalid Port Number" Error. (I used the puTTy provided credential n RDM)
But when i start putty directly everything works fine.

Even when i enter the logon credentials in RDM directly i receive the same "Invalid Port Number" Error. This error seems to be out of PuTTy himself

Any idea what causes this strange behavior ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Is it possible for you try to open the same session on a Windows Vista and XP and see if it's works ?

Do you open embedded or external ?

Again,
it's seems to be a putty error, I found this

but I don't think that it will help. Maybe you should configure putty to run in compatibility mode.

Problem seems to be solved.

I changed the appp installation path in RDM regarding puTTy.
I tried the default path suggested by RDM "C:\Program Files\putty.exe" instead of "C:\putty.exe".

Now everthing works fine.:drop:

Seems that the "not standard app-path" caused this issue.
puTTy or RDM bug?

Thanks for your suggestions,

Hi,
It's a good news, but I don't think that's a bug of RDM or Putty. I think it's more related to Vista / Windows 7 security model, I know that the root folder ("c:\") is now protected, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thank you for the information.
