SSH connection using private key stored in Keeper

avatar

Hi!

We are evaluating Remote Desktop Manager to connect to all our SSH and RDP Servers. I'm trying to link a SSH entry with Keeper but I can only make it work using username and password. However we use private/public keys for all our connections. Ideally we would like to store the IP, username and private key in a Keeper entry. If the IP is not possible we would like to store the username and the private key. In Keeper Command for example they use the attachment properties for storing the PEM. Another option is a property with a concrete name (for example private_key).

Hello,

Currently, the Keeper integration doesn't fetch the private key. It's a good idea.
The easiest way to do it would be to fetch from a specific property like you mention (a property called private_key for example). We'll have to see if we can support it with attachments as well. I've opened an improvement ticket so we can investigate.

Ok. If in any moment you have an ETA for this improvement please let me know ASAP as it's a critical point for us. We would need for both desktop and mobile app. For mobile is not so critical.

We're currently working on another improvement for the Keeper integration actually (adding support for fetching OTPs), so we'll be working on this afterwards. I'm hopeful it shouldn't take a long time if the API supports this. We'll let you know once we have a better idea.

Hello,

We've added support for private keys stored in Keeper. Unfortunately, our Keeper accounts don't support secure files, so it will only be possible through custom fields for now.

This feature will be available in our 2021.2.0.0 release.
