RDM automatically checks in Excel-Documents

Hello,

so my topic is that we use/edit different kinds of documents in RDM. Our Checkin/Checkout mode is "Automatic" with Checkout prompt "No" and the time for an automatic checkin is 3 hours. The display mode is on "External". In the advanced settings we activated "Use Microsoft Office instead of editors". Our version is 2020.1.10.0.
When I open the session for an Excel-document it gets checked in back after a few seconds even though I have it still opened. This problem does not show up for Word, Visio or other types of documents. Here, they stay checked out until I close the document in Word etc. and then get checked in automatically.
We want to prevent our documents to get changed by two persons at the same time which is why this is a problem for us.
Is this a known problem in RDM and did it maybe got fixed already in recent updates?

Hi Joha,

Could you provide us with a couple of things if possible;

  1. Your Data Source type
  2. A screenshot of your entry properties
  3. A screenshot of the Check out report under Administration > Reports > Check Out report.

Hi,

it seems like the problem fixed itself. Maybe the server needed time after I made some changes.
