RVTools - No longer runs

avatar

I have several RVTools configured in RDM. At some they appear to have stopped working.
I have checked the Add on is activated and RVTools is installed.

I have checked the properties of the saved session and everything looks OK. However, when I click the session it freezes RDM for a small period where it looks like its trying to run, nothing appears and there is no output.

I'm Running 2021.1.25 64bit
RVTools is 4.1.3

I should mention if I run RVTools application it runs the report without issue, so I assume its a configuration issue I have in my RDM session.

Thanks
Iain

Appears I am able to now get it to activate RVTools, I see a pop up as it is collecting the info, but I still do not get any export.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Devolutions service desk!

I would like to verify the number of RVTools entries you currently have for which you are experiencing this issue.

I would also be curious to know if you compare the XML for one of your old, broken entries and one of your new working entries, if you are capable of seeing any differences between the two. Even if the visible settings in both entries' properties seem the same, it's possible that other hidden parameters are causing this difference in behavior.

You can use any method you prefer to compare the XML. Here is how I would recommend doing it if you are not already familiar with this :

For each entry, you can obtain the XML information by right-clicking them in the Navigation pane and going to Clipboard > Copy

To compare the content of both XML, you can use Notepad++, downloadable here :
https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/

In addition to Notepad++, you will want to use the following plugin to do the comparison :
https://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-compare/

Once that is done, please let us know what differences are found between the two XML files.

Best regards,

Gabriel Degrandpré
