Timeout for Offline Mode when Datasource is offline on RDM-Start-Up
Hello,
When RDM in 2021-Version is started and the configured Datasource is offline it takes about 1 Minute until it's possible to activate the Offline Mode, in that Time RDM is not responding. Althrough this is a much better Value than in the 2020-Version, there it took a few Minutes, it's a long Duration to check the Datasource-Availability. It would be great, if the Timeout could be set to a user-defined value in the Configuration Window for the Datasource or the value would be lower.

If you are using a team data source (Devolutions Server, SQL, etc) and it is often the case you want to start in offline mode, you can enable the option to "Prompt for offline mode on startup" under File > Data Sources > Edit > Advanced. This way, you will not have any delay.
If you prefer to not enable it, you can change the value of the timeout just above.

Although the Connection Timeout is set to 15 Seconds RDM needs about 1 and a half Minute to prompt if the User wants to use Offline Mode. If the Option "Prompt for offline Mode on Startup" is set the Start takes not so long but still longer than when the Datasource is online.
Perhaps it's possible to optimize the Behavior regarding Timeouts when the Datasource is offline and the Option "Prompt for offline Mode on Startup" is not set?

Is your data source configured to use the Ping Online Method (same location as the other settings)? If it is not set to None, I would recommend to do so, it should make your server more responsive at startup.

The Ping Online Method is already set to "None", to test if it makes a Difference i've set it to "Web Request" but the Duration until I can set the Datasource to "Offline" is the same with both Values.

Is the Caching mode set to Intelligent?
What data source type are you connected to? If it's Devolutions Server, what version are you using?
The number of entries could possibly impact RDM slowness. It would be interesting to investigate this behaviour in a remote session. Please send an email to ticket@devolutions.net and we will send the instruction to book the session.

@everyone the customer has tested the latest RDM and DVLS version 2021.2 and the starting time is now much more better. The prompt for offline mode on startup appears faster than before.
