Hi Guys,
I'm experiencing a keyboard typing delay outside and inside the RDP session, it happens randomly all the time and it's impossible to type or use the keyboard anyway, in order to get it back working i figure out that switching the running user screen (from the Windows main computer) and login back again solve the issue temporarily.
I don't know it this issue has been reported yet, but i stopped using RDM due to this behavior, i'm running the last version.
Thanks.
Hello,
What data source type do you use in RDM?

Hi,
I'm using Devolution Online Drive.
Thanks.
Hello,
Thank you for providing us that information,
I would like you to test something,
Go in to "File" -> "Data sources" then select your "Devolutions Online Drive" and press "Edit" (Pencil) button in the top left corner, with this done go under the "Advanced" tab and uncheck the "Auto refresh" option.
Let us know if the issue still persists with this option disabled.
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hi,
I'll try that, but every time i close/open RDM, this option comes back enabled (is this the normal behavior?).
Thanks.
Hello,
Thank you for your quick reply!
A ticket has been opened with our Engineering Department to prevent this option from returning to its default value after restarting the application.
We will inform you once a fix will be found.
That being said, do you still experience these typing delays after disabling this option?
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hi,
Yes, still happening after disabling it.
Hello,
Thank you for testing this,
I'm wondering if you could try a portable version of RDM to see if the issue persists, To do so, you will need to do the following:
Since I'm not sure which edition of RDM you're using I will provide you the steps to the portable version for both Enterprise and Free edition.
Enterprise:
1- Download the .zip file below:
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/thankyou/rdmbin
2- Create a new folder on your Desktop
3- Extract the content of the .zip file into the folder created at #2
4- Go in this folder once the .zip file has been extracted and run remotedesktopmanager64.exe
5- Enter your current serial
Free:
1- Download the .zip file below:
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/thankyou/rdmfreebin
2- Create a new folder on your Desktop
3- Extract the content of the .zip file into the folder created at #2
4- Go in this folder once the .zip file has been extracted and run remotedesktopmanager.exe
5- Enter your current serial which you can retrieve at the following link : https://customer-portal.devolutions.com/serials
Let me know if the issue persists with the portable version.
Best regards,

Hi,
Updating the case, I've been using the RDM all day long with that checkbox unchecked, it looks like solved the keyboard issue.
So, i look forward to the patch in order to fix the checkbox checked after application restart.
Thanks.
Hello,
I'm glad to hear that, as my colleague mentioned we will let you know once that issue has been resolved.
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hi,
Updating the case, in the installed edition i've got the issue again today.
Now i'm testing the executable version.
Hello,
I would like to make sure I do not misunderstand, are you still experiencing the issue with the "Auto refresh" option disabled?
Since there is currently an issue with saving that option, it will need to be disabled every time RDM is restarted.
Let me know,
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hi,
Yes, with the options disabled still get the issue.
I`m evaluating the executable version now, let you how it goes later.
Thanks.
Hi,
After evaluating the executable version for past two days, still experiencing the keyboard delay with the refresh checkbox disabled.
Thanks.
Hello,
RDM 2021.1.23.0 was just released I'm wondering if you could give it a try? You can download it from this link:
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/download
I will also send you a link in private messages where you can provide us a recording of this issue.

Hi,
Still getting the delay issue after upgrading, but now is still worse than before because is happening more often, i had to stop using the RDM app.
Any progress on this issue?
Hello,
We haven't made any progress, to be honest we don't know what could be the problem. I will try to ask you few question to narrow down the root cause. How many session do you have in you data source? Have you tried to use a local file like SQLite? How many RDP connection do you open at the same time?

David Hervieux
Hi,
About 50 sessions mixing RDP, SSH, VPN
I never tried other source
Most of the times i open only one RDP session.
I've remove and reinstalled the application, and now the mouse gets delayed too.
Hello,
Since the issue persists I would like you to open a ticket with us so that we can investigate further.
You can do so by going directly in your instance of RDM, under "Help" -> "Submit a support ticket" simply make sure that both options "Send data source information" and "Diagnostic information" are enabled.
Also, if possible it would be helpful if you provide us a link to this forum thread in the "Message" or "Subject" field of the ticket.
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
