Cannot type in search after window bring up with shortcut

As i said, nothing has changed and it was working for years, also if you notice in the video the RDM does pop-up so the shortcut is there but it is like you forgot to add the me.setfocus command.

Just to let you know, we were able to reproduce the issue and a ticket has been opened. We'll update this thread once we have an update.

Its a bit worse now :)

I've sent a video on the link above again. When all windows are minimized and you press the shortcut the RDM gets in front with focus and you can type and search
If another window is maximized like chrome then the window of RDM is shown in the task bar but NEVER gets on top and NEVER gets focus
try it with notepad, outlook etc.
Very very weird thing is that it does not happen if firefox is the window maximized !?!?!? then RDM gets on top and gets focus.
all other windows have the same outcome.

I'm confused.
Three hours later, suddenly it works as expected.
I haven't even reboot or rerun the RDM. just it is running, pressed ctr-r and it appeared as normal. even though i have 4 chrome windows open.

And now, it stopped, two attempts later, few windows up and down on the desktop and it works again

That's weird, I was testing with Chrome as well so I'm incertain whether the program being focused is the issue here... there might be something else. We'll reopen the case and get our QA team on it, there might be a configuration-related thing happening, or maybe it's something else we missed.

Let us know if you find out anything else that may be causing this.

Today it just refuses to work.
The only way to bring it in front and focus is if the active window is firefox.

Have you been able to reproduce this yet ? can i assist any more with videos or logs ?

Good news, I believe we found the underlying cause of the issue, and we have made a fix. This fix will be available in RDM 2021.1.25.0 which is our next minor patch.
I hope with this change it will now work for you like it did previously. 🙂
