variables and custom fields
I have been trying to find information and documentation on the use of variables and custom fields. There doesn't seem to be any documentation on custom fields or variables either in the 'knowledge base' or in the 'help'.
In particular I would like a list of variable names which are available.
Also, I wanted information on how to reference a custom field. I eventually discovered that I can get the value of a custom field with $CUSTOM_FIELD1$ for the custom field 1, but I don't seem to be able to reference the custom field by name if I have set the field to have my own name for it.
I found a forum post which had the following links - but the links don't work :-

Hello,
The simplest way to see the list of available variables is to click on Variables in the bottom left corner of any entry you are editing or creating:
You will see a complete list of all the variables as well as a description. You can then copy the variable, or simply double click on it to insert it in the field you were previous on before clicking on Variables.

I know we can add some custom field by using option "More Custom Fields"
Do we have variable for this new field?

From quickly looking on my end it does not look like it's currently possible to use variables for the added custom fields.

Hello, we've added the necessary handling to be able to support additional custom fields variables. Those will be accessible in the same manner as the previous ones, by referencing their order number ($CUSTOM_FIELD6$, etc.).
This should be available for 2022.3.9
