I would like to use linked objects in the TreeView.
I have a tree based on services in the IT organisation, like E-Mail, Active Directory etc. including a default folder structure for credentials or server connections.
If a server or a credential is used for two services I currently have to create and maintain two individual objects with the same informations. I would like to create one and use a linked object in the other folder to keep manage the infos only in one object.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter!
I suspect that the feature you are looking for is already available in RDM. Using the credential redirection feature, you are able to have multiple connections use credentials store in the same credential entry. The credential mode you would need to use in that case is the "Linked (vault)" (1) and should look like this:
Once this mode is selected, you can use the ellipsis button (2) to point your connection entry to the credential entry that holds your credentials:
If this is not what you are looking for, could you please provide me an example of what you need, along with a few screenshots?

Hi James,
thank you for your reply.
My request goes a little further.
In this example I have an RDP connection to the same server in two different folders (thats for organising the objects by Services).
But I want to manage only one RDP Connection (connection info, preferences, properties, tags, comments, description) and use a link to that connection info in the other folder.
Would be great for the linked object to even adopt the session state (green icon when connected).
I hope this could make my request a bit more clear :)
Regards,
Sven
Hello Sven,
Thank you for your swift reply!
In that case, I suspect that the "shortcut" might help you achieve this. For more information, please consult this link: https://kb.devolutions.net/rdm_creating_shortcuts.html
