Hello,
I only found some old threads where people were asking about a way to see the connected vpn-sessions.
Is it implemented today?
For example if we launch Cisco Anyconnect in RDM we can't see any info if its connected or not (we only know it is because some remote connections are working afterwards).
Thanks!
Hello,
In certain cases, it's possible for us to detect that the VPN is opened, but most of the time, unfortunately, it's not possible.
However, you should see a play button on your VPN session when this one is opened like below:
Is the case?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hello Jeff,
when I open a vpn whit anyconnect, I don't see the play button.
Can you help me?
thanks
Maurizio
Hello Maurizio,
Which version of RDM and what type of Data Source you are currently using? While you are not seeing the play button, could you please confirm if the VPN is launched properly outside of RDM?
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hello James,
thanks for your rapid response.
The version of RDM is 2022.2.18.0 64-bit and the Data Source is Microsoft SQL Server.
I confirm the vpn is up but the icon is not play button.
regards.
Maurizio
Hello Maurizio,
Thank you for your swift reply!
Could you please go under Administration -> System Settings -> Vault and see if the option "Allow entry states (lock, running, checkout)" is checked?
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hi James,
"Allow entry states" is checked.
Maurizio
Hello Maurizio,
Thank you for making this verification.
Since this option is checked, we fall back to the original conclusion of this topic. Since the VPN entries are in reality command lines used to launch the VPN application outside of RDM, it is not always possible for us to know that it is running once the original command has been sent. This must be the reason why the "play icon" is not shown on your VPN entry.
That being said, the fact that it opens properly outside of RDM should allow you to launch the connections that require it without issues.
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hello again,
Our Engineering Department has also provided me with additional information that could prove useful to this case.
Could you please go under File -> Options -> Types -> VPN and provide me a screenshot of this location?
Also, could you please provide me a screenshot of the general section of your VPN entry? Just make sure to blur any sensitive information it contains.
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hello James,
below the screenshots you asked me.
Thanks
Maurizio
Hello,
Thank you for these screenshots!
One of the options that could affect the "Play button" is the "Use legacy opened VPN detection". Since it is not checked on your end, we can rule it out of the possible causes.
I will see if anything else could cause this and get back to you with my results.
Best regards,
James Lafleur
