Shortcut for "Open Session with specified credentials"
0 vote
Hello,
I am a system administrator who is using RDP sessions every day. I have to log in with 2 users on every machine. (Standard user and Administrator)
I have configured my sessions with the standard user. When I need to log in with the Administrator account I have to use the right click -> Select Credentials option.
I searched for a keybind in the options to open a session with specified credentials, but the only option is to open a session with a template.
So I made a workaround with the template option.
Is it possible to add a new shortcut to the list (maybe named like "Open with specified credentials"), where you can also select the credential you want to open the sessions with, beside from the shortcut?
So that when you press for example Strg + Shift + Enter the session will open directly with the entered credential. So you don't have to select a credential anymore?
This would save me a lot of time in the future. :)
Kind regards
Tobias
Hello,
For your scenario, is the administrator credential always the same or does it differ per entry? I'd like to get a better grasp on what would and wouldn't work for you.

Hello,
yes the administrator credentials are always the same.

Hello,
What we could do is have a shortcut (and matching button in the context menu) that would be "Open session with My Personal Credentials". This would take the credentials configured in File > My Account Settings > My Personal Credentials.
What do you think?

Hello,
yes that would work for me.
Thanks for the quick response.

Perfect. Thanks Tobias, I've opened an internal ticket for this new feature. 🙂
We'll update this thread once we have an update on our progress.

Hello,
The button "Open Using My Personal Credentials" has been added internally and should be available starting from RDM 2021.1.16.0

Hello,
thanks for adding the feature, but I can't find the keyboard shortcut in the options. Is this still in progress or is it located differently?
Thanks and have a nice day.

Tobias
Hello,
As of now there are no shortcuts for this feature. I will add this as soon as possible.

Hi, some update to allow create a shortcut or a selectable option to open with specific credentials by default.
The credential will differ (will be a sub connection) on entries where I want add thi shortcut.
Hello,
Have you tried using the keyboard shortcut "Open Using My Personal Credentials"? You could create a Password List entry under your "My Personal Credentials" section and choose a set of credentials from it when you use the shortcut.
This shortcut can be configured by going under File -> Options -> User Interface -> Keyboard:
Let us know if that helps!
